Project objective
The ultimate goal of the BIOCOSM project was to develop a biotechnology platform for the sustainable preparation of high-value cosmetic ingredients such as antinflammatory compounds and protein hydrolysates (HVP).The development of inflammatory compounds, in which Bict was involved, made it possible to modulate purity and also to obtain a high-purity product that could potentially be used commercially as an analytical standard.
The aim of a technological platform links BIOCOSM to the Scent of Lombardy project, with an expanded cosmetics/essences platform.
Project description
The BIOCOSM project carried out experimental activities in the sustainable preparation of high value cosmetic ingredients, such antinflammatory compounds and protein hydrolysates (HVP).The compounds were produced using a chemo-enzymatic approach, to give a product with different degrees of purity.
Protein hydrolysates, obtained by enzymatic hydrolysis, are originated from soya and sunflower cake after pressing.
