RESEARCHER IN THE HETEROLOGOUS EXPRESSION AND MUTAGENESIS AREA (JR-07 AND SR-04)
The Researcher we are looking for in BiCT is a person who has passion for molecular biology, especially applied to bacteria, yeasts and fungi, for important challenges in process evolution, oriented to achieve an innovative result in the field of heterologous expression. He/She knows that microorganisms and enzymes are an inexhaustible source of potential, and for this reason he applies mutagenesis to achieve project goals. He/She is willing to grow and get involved, giving his/her concrete contribution to the development of products and new services for the research and production market. We evaluate both Junior and Senior profiles, as the area is in active growth.
The ideal candidate has a degree in scientific disciplines (biological sciences, biotechnology) and previous experience in companies or structures operating in the life sciences sector.
You will be responsible for the execution of research projects applied to industrial processes aimed at heterologous expression and modification of strains and enzymes, as well as the execution of services for the qualification/characterization of products.
You will be involved in the development of protocols and reports in compliance with quality standards and with a focus on customer needs.
Master’s degree in biotechnology or biological sciences.
The candidate should have mastered the main laboratory techniques, with particular focus on molecular biology, heterologous expression and mutagenesis.
He/she has acquired skills in the management of microorganisms and has developed an excellent understanding of their characteristics and potential.
Previous experience in companies operating in the field and knowledge of enzymatic assay techniques is appreciated.
Knowledge of analytical techniques such as HPLC and GC or the application of automation and robotics to the development of protocols and processes will be preferred but not essential.
Proactivity, strong result orientation, problem solving skills, accuracy and attention to detail, and good interpersonal skills complete the profile.
